If you weren’t in Piedmont Park last weekend, you missed out. No, really: It’s not good. The Atlanta Jazz Festival’s month-long schedule culminated with a three-day blowout: From Herbie Hancock to the Pete Escovedo Orchstra, there wasn’t a bad apple in the bunch. Next stop: 1 billion Did you hear about this? Last week, as Amy Warner and Dawn Zimmerman, of Erie, Pa., made their way into the Georgia Aquarium, they were greeted by aquarium benefactor Bernie Marcus himself. That’s because they were guests number 5 million. That’s 5 million—in just 18 months! Come on, people—there are other things to do in Atlanta. Like—we don’t know—climb Stone Mountain or something. If you’re a resident of Glynco, Ga., you had the distinct pleasure (or pain, depending on how you feel about such things) of getting a visit from the prez himself last week. Bush was in town Tuesday to give a talk on immigration reform at Glynco’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Turns out it’s the largest such facility in the country. W. took a moment to check out a demonstration at a simulated airport port of entry at the training center. We can hear him now: “Is that the Google on the Internets?”
