SOMETHING TO BLING ABOUT

With a bevy of awards and accolades for her career in mass communication, Atlanta & Company co-host Holly Firfer knows a thing or two about looking good for the camera. Now she’s focused her fashionable good looks on her own jewelry line, which debuts at LUXE Atlanta Saturday, April 12, from noon to 6 p.m. Firfer’s collection of necklaces, earrings and bracelets is eclectic, hip and trendy—and affordable. Most pieces weigh in at less than $150. Her sterling silver and gold-plated jewelry features semiprecious gemstones in a myriad of designs ranging from big and chunky to long and wistful. Each stone is unique and different; hence, Firfer’s jewelry is all one-of-a-kind. Firfer doesn’t duplicate anything. However, she’s happy to replicate a piece for customers when it’s possible—some stones are just too rare to try, though. Firfer also offers custom charm bracelets, tailored to the client’s interests and most frequently colors. She’ll have about six samples of these for viewing at her inaugural trunk show, along with about 100 pieces from her collection. Firfer says, “I try to make what I would like and what I would wear.” A Web site of her own is forthcoming, but for now, Firfer’s line is sold exclusively at LUXE. 1000 Marietta St. 404-815-7470. www.luxeatlanta.com.

DEDICATED DESIGN

Local design house and manufacturer Raw Talent Inc. has launched NVR SAY NVR, a cool collection of men’s and women’s T-shirts dedicated to suicide prevention, human rights, justice and the environment. Raw Talent president and CEO Cody Murray has high hopes to spread awareness of a multitude of causes by outfitting the world in wearable campaign slogans. Each T-shirt is printed with an inspirational story inside. The printing in the black T-shirt with the red star (pictured) outlines the mission of NVR SAY NVR; its proceeds benefit all four causes. Another T-shirt—a red one with white text and a black star—benefits Innocence Atlanta, an organization that works to restore the innocence of the children sold into sex trafficking. A portion of the message printed inside the shirt reads, “Every 2 minutes, a child is sold as a sex slave. And every day, we fight against the reality that child sex slavery exists in our world. Phrases like, ‘child rape,’ ‘8-year-old prostitute,’ and ‘cigarette burns on her back’ should never be uttered in a sentence. It is up to us to tell their story. We must be heard. We must not stop. We must pursue justice.” The apparel is sold exclusively online at www.nvrsaynvrcampaign.com.

SHOPPING SOIREE

Online magazine Shecky’s is back in Atlanta to host its biannual phenomenal shopping event, Girls Night Out. The two-day affair takes place Wednesday and Thursday, April 9 and 10, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Foundry at Puritan Mills (916 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd.). The evenings feature more than 50 designers selling their wares for up to 75 percent off the retail prices, complimentary cocktails (must be 21 or older), samplings of super-fabulous cosmetics and skincare, introductions to the latest in beauty technology and Shecky’s now-infamous Deluxe Goodie Bag, which is rife with full-sized products you’ll actually want to use. Tickets for general admission cost $10, but we recommend the splurge for $25—you won’t regret it. Register at www.sheckys.com. SP
