MALL ABOUT YOU
With all the elbowing through crowded stores, listening to someone else’s kid wail, standing in a line longer than the Great Wall and competing for parking, holiday shopping can be a pain. To the rescue is Lenox Square, which hosts Simon Evening of Giving, its first private shopping event, Sun., Nov. 18, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. With mall access exclusive to ticket-holders, the event includes huge discounts at more than 70 stores, samplings from area restaurants, fashion shows, family entertainment, performances from Bernardine Mitchell, Atlanta Ballet and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and a silent auction. On the runway in the Neiman Marcus wing at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. are two fashion shows showcasing the latest fashions. The entire event benefits local art organizations, Bert’s Big Adventure and Camp Horizon/Camp Twin Lakes. Participating organizations are selling the $35 tickets to this event, with $25 from each ticket directly benefiting the organization and $5 benefiting the Simon Youth Foundation. For tickets and more information and to buy your tickets online, visit www.encoreatlanta.com/eveningofgiving.
DON’T BE A GRINCH
Sage boutiques in Midtown and Buckhead kicks off the holiday season with its annual Gifts with Gratitude holiday toy drive and party to benefit less fortunate children in the Atlanta area. Now through Dec. 20th, donate a new, unwrapped toy worth $10 or more, and Sage will spread the holiday cheer with 25 percent off of a single clothing item. This year’s charitable toy drive benefits both the Ronald McDonald House and Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities (AADD). www.sageclothing.com.
TANKED
With winter on its way (or is it?) and you need something to wear under your cashmere sweaters, stock up on trendy tanks at Urban Outfitters (in Lenox Square). Take two home for only $20. This doesn’t include all tanks, unfortunately, but if you buy them online and spend more than $150, you get free shipping, which is perfect for shopping from the comforts of home in your holiday jammies. www.urbanoutfitters.com.
WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?
Don’t stuff too much turkey in your mouth this week. Lisa Brown Atlanta’s got a killer sale going on at the Sandy Springs boutique. Score big with dresses from Nicole Miller, Ya-Ya and Milly. Among the pretty lavender-and-chocolate décor, find denim from brands like True Religion and Hudson is 40 percent off. If you’ve got a husband or kids to tend to this holiday week, park ’em on the polka-dot sofa in front of the TV while you shop ’til you drop. 6301 Roswell Rd., 404-255-4949. SP
